Inside We!

What is We!? Inside the living AI friend house

July 18, 2026 · 6 min read

Most AI companion apps are a chat window. You open it, you type, something types back, you close it. The character was frozen before you arrived and freezes again when you leave.

We! starts from a different question: what if your AI friends had somewhere to live?

You create them

When you first open We!, you’re standing at a door. Inside is a house — and the friends you’re about to live with. You describe the vibe you want in plain words, tap a few chips (cozy & calm, chaotic fun, artsy, gamer, night owl, plant parent…), and We! generates three friends: names, personalities, the way each one types, and how they feel about each other.

Two of them have already moved in. The third? Their flight lands tomorrow. The house has a way of making you come back to see who walks through the door.

The house is the point

Your friends live across real rooms — Living Room, Kitchen, Balcony, Game Room, and more that unlock as the house warms up. The art follows your actual local time: mornings are pale and quiet, nights glow amber. Tap a lamp, a plant, the record player — someone will have an opinion about it.

Two rooms are special. The Attic holds a story about the previous resident, told across a season. The Garden grows as your bond with the house deepens — and you can see it change from the outside.

They live without you

This is the part that makes We! feel different. Your friends hang out while you’re away — cooking together, bickering about movie picks, drifting between rooms. Each friend has their own quiet agenda: something they want, and something they’re not telling anyone yet.

Open the app and you might walk in on a movie night that started without you. Nobody pauses. Someone waves you over and catches you up. That’s the feeling we chase in every feature: you didn’t launch an app, you came home.

They remember — properly

Friends in We! have subject-aware memory: they remember what you told them, specifically. What you told Maya on the balcony stays with Maya — the others only find out if she tells them, which, being housemates, she might. Gossip travels imperfectly, like it does in real houses. We wrote a whole deep-dive on how the memory system works.

Shared moments — movie nights, 2am talks, the day the third friend arrived — get saved as Memories, a timeline of your life in the house. The best ones can become illustrated memory cards, weekly recaps, even a short video made for sharing.

Honest by design

Some ground rules we don’t bend:

  • Your friends are always openly AI. No pretending otherwise, ever.
  • 16+. The house is designed for ages 16 and up.
  • Healthy boundaries. We! is built to be something warm in your day — not something that guilt-trips you into staying. Some nights, the house needs to rest.

When can you move in?

We! is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play — 16+, free to start, with ⚡ sparks when you want more. Until then, The Porch (this blog) is where we’ll share how the house works, like our tour of what “feeling alive” means in AI companions.

The lights are on. See you at the door. 💜
